Let the Journey Begin!

Hello! Welcome to our little slice of cyberspace!

I’m starting this blog as a place for me to not only house all of the random thoughts, ideas, and experiences I have, but also to share them.

I’ve learned that in this stage of life as I raise our kids and educate them from home, my extroverted spirit needs community and a place to share all the little moments that only I am here to experience. I get my best ideas from others being generous and sharing, so I thought I would do the same.

I write and share because I love to write and share. No other reason. I love sharing the things that are working, things that aren’t working, the real moments that are amazing, and those that aren’t so amazing. I love to share quotes, recipes, how I found a new method or organization that is making life easier- all kinds of random things! I wanted a place to keep all of these random thoughts and make them accessible for myself and for anyone else who may be interested.

I don't choose to share because I know it all and have it all figured out. It's actually the exact opposite! We have our share of awful days, I lose my cool more often than I would like to admit, and I fail my kids. I'm human. I am far, far, FAR, from perfect. However, despite that, I am still learning and growing and maturing little by little, day by day.

God created us to be social creatures and to live in community. He wants us to have deep and meaningful relationships with others. Right now, with three littles at home, it’s hard to find the time and energy to get out of the house to have the soul-quenching form of community my heart needs. Writing and sharing is a way for my soul to find rest- as odd as it may sound. It helps me to process what’s happening and what I’m learning. It gives me a chance to take my mind away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday and focus on something, even if that something is still related to motherhood and education. It’s just how I’m created!

My hope in sharing our life is that you will find community and know that you are not alone in this crazy ride of motherhood. My hope is that you might even find a little inspiration, try something new, think about things in a new way, or just get that dose of encouragement you need on the most hectic and exhausting days.

This work of parenting and educating our children is so very important, but so draining. It requires a continual effort of finding rest and renewal so that we can give our best to our families.

So, here’s a new endeavor, and I hope that this little blog will be a blessing to you and your family!
